Merry Christmas Eve Eve! I can’t believe it is Christmas already. I feel like it was just yesterday I was putting on my swimming suite to go pontooning all afternoon. Sadly, we are not getting our traditional Wisco winters that I absolutely love. We have NO snow and it is raining right now, raining! WTF. If that isn’t a damper for a jolly Christmas, I don’t know what is. I have yet to wrap a single present. Whoops.
Let’s talk about something real quick, holiday gatherings and all the food that comes with them. I get it, it is the holidays and time to spend time with family and loved ones socializing over food and drinks. BUT, please please please don’t use that as an excuse to get off track with making healthy choices. I am not saying cut yourself off from all things unhealthy over the holidays, I am reminding you to be smart. Eat a healthy snack before going to a party or bring a healthy dish to pass. That way, you know you will have options. The new year is just around the corner and you don’t want to take three steps backwards when you know you want to leap five steps forward. Treat yourself, a little, but do not use the holidays as an excuse to not reach your goals.
I am giving you an extremely simple recipe that you can enjoy cuddled up in front of the fireplace watching netflix with your loves. I don’t have a fireplace but really really want one. I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happiest of New Year’s! Stay safe, splurge (a little), make healthy choices and start 2016 off already ahead!
