I figured active recovery would be pretty fitting for this week. If you read my post Wednesday post you know that I am sick from not listening to my body. I am still fighting this sickness and sheer exhaustion and haven’t gone to the gym since Tuesday with no plans of going anytime soon. Since I am about to fall asleep on my keyboard, I am going to keep this short and sweet. Active recovery is a “rest day” with some light activity. The point of active recovery is to allow for your body to rest and recover while still moving. If you want to still lift, lift lighter. If you still want to run, run slower and for a shorter distance. Here are some examples!
Active Recovery
– Snowshoeing
– Hiking/walking
– Light jog
– Stretching and/or foam rolling
– Yoga
– Swimming
– Light weight training
