All health and wellness goals take time. For many, this is a hard concept to grasp because people want to see immediate results. That’s just not how things work, nor should they. It takes a lot of time, effort, planning and consistency to change your body.
Time – changing your lifestyle shouldn’t be a short term thing. If you want real lasting results changing your lifestyle for the rest of your life is what you will need to do. This means that after 30 days of cleaning up your diet you continue for another 30 days and another and another and so on.
Effort – this isn’t going to be easy. It takes really effort to live a healthy lifestyle to ensure you create the time to meal prep, get in a workout, educate yourself, etc. Frankly, if it was easy then everyone would be doing it. It takes effort to listen to your body, learn what it actually needs to functional optimally.
Planning – if you do not plan you will fail. Life happens, shit hits the fan, schedules get out of whack and if we don’t have meals already thought out, workouts scheduled on our calendars, “me time” worked in then we will fall off the bandwagon and become overly stressed. The more we can prepare ourselves for what the week will bring the easier it will be to stay on track.
Consistency – this is everything. We can create the time, put in the effort and plan but if we aren’t consistently doing these things than results will take much longer. Consistency is essential to reach our goals. Without, nothing will be achieved.
So, make the time to plan, put in the effort and stay consistent!
