As I write this, it’s Sunday night and my bed time is creeping up… I don’t generally pre write my blog posts but this is an absolute must. Tomorrow, meaning Monday, I literally have every hour of my day planned from 4:00am until I go to bed. I know I will be working late tomorrow with a packed schedule so I had to take a little extra time this evening to plan out my entire day. Which includes getting my blog post ready to go tonight. Tomorrow isn’t a typical day for me and I am not letting that be an excuse to not get you guys a new recipe, to not go to the gym or to not eat healthy mindful meals.
My day might have to start extra early tomorrow to get in a workout but that is okay because I know I will feel better by still getting in my workout. I may have every single hour of my day planned out to a tee but that is okay because I know it will keep me on task and less stressed. I know I will be working many more hours Monday than I typically do but that is okay because I am thankful to have a job. I will most likely be exhausted by the time I get home tomorrow and that is why I already have dinner planned so when I walk through the door all I will have to do is plate up and eat.
Just by taking a little extra time each week to plan out the week ahead can help you be more efficient, stick to your goals and keep your stress levels down. Not having a plan is planning to fail. Don’t set yourself up for failure this week and schedule your big rocks right now on your calendar. Schedule the “musts” first and then move on to other things that you would like to get done or do and then schedule out your fun and social time. With a plan in place before the week even starts will help you feel prepared and ready to take on anything that is thrown at you.
Speaking of planning, Labor Day weekend is this weekend, holy smokes! I am already thinking about what will be on the menu this holiday weekend and this Cabbage Slaw will be making an appearance. Add this easy to make and clean ingredient Cabbage Slaw to your barbeque or cookout menu and you won’t be disappointed!
- ½ half head purple cabbage
- ½ half green cabbage
- 2 cups shredded carrots
- ¼ - ⅓ cup cilantro, chopped
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Juice of ½ lime
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Using a food processor, shredded the cabbage and add to a large bowl. Add the shredded carrots and cilantro and mix well.
- In a small bowl add the extra virgin olive oil, lemon and lime juice and spices. Mix well. Add the olive oil mixture to the cabbage and mix well.
- Enjoy!
