How is it already the first of December! I just can’t even… We have been having unseasonable warm weather recently and no snow yet ,so it doesn’t feel like Christmas is in a few weeks. This time of year can be stressful and very busy for most people. The first to be forgotten about is usually workouts. I’m here to tell you thought, it is still possible to get in workouts even during the busy holiday season. If you have to shorten up your workouts to get them in, then do it! You will feel better and your body will thank you for getting in at least some exercise versus none. Usually during the holidays I don’t follow a specific program because we are traveling a lot and things come up. Instead, I shorten up my workouts and make sure to get them in every single week. If you want to make sure to still get in your workouts this holiday season, here are a few simple tips.
- Shorten up your workouts and increase the intensity – instead of spending over an hour in the gym, do a short 10-20 minute HIIT session.
- Schedule your workouts in your weekly calendar – when you write down when you will workout you are more likely to do them.
- Plan ahead – will you be traveling and not have time or access to a gym? Think ahead of your travel schedule and fit in workouts where you can. Again, keep them short!
- Do more at home workouts – a lot of people travel for the holidays so have a bank of at home workouts that you can do in your families or in-laws living room.
This workout would be a great HIIT option to add to your holiday workout bank if you will have access to a treadmill! You can also find tons of at home workouts under the my fitness tab.
