Yesterday, along with a brand new recipe (Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream) I also share a round up of some of my most favorite healthy holiday indulgences for the 4th of July! 14 recipes in fact. If you haven’t planned out your holiday menu yet for next week, checkout of yesterdays post and get some of those treats on your menu!
Let’s keep the ball rolling with healthy cocktails to reign in the 4th of July. Alcohol can be the death of any progress in weight and fat loss goals, but they are also part of most people’s social lives. Instead of downing drinks made of artificial junk and sugars that leave you feeling bloated, sip on a healthy cocktail made of real ingredients that is refreshing! Here are 7 simple, refreshing, and clean ingredient cocktails that will give you that extra spark this 4th of July!
- Paleo Raspberry Lemonade (just add vodka!)
- Cranberry Orange Champagne Spritzers (just change out the cranberries and juice for your favorite in season fruit!)
- Stawberry Kiwi Infused Water (just add cucumber vodka!)
- Watermelon Lime and Cucumber Cocktail
- Homemade Moscow Mule
- July 4th Champagne Refresher
- Paleo Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail
I may not be able to enjoy any healthy cocktails this 4th of July, but if I could, I would definitely be making a batch of the July 4th Champagne Refresher, Watermelon Lime and Cucumber Cocktail and the Paleo Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail. They are the BEST!
If you enjoy alcohol and still want to be healthy and look and feel good you still can. Beverages do not have to set you back when it comes to your health and fitness goals as long as you are proactive and smart about it. Over indulging in alcohol is just like over indulging in food. Consuming highly processed cocktails is just like consuming highly processed foods. If you are looking to find balance and moderation with alcohol in your healthy lifestyle then I encourage you to look at what you are drinking, how much you are drinking and how can you make those choices just a little bit better?
