Happy happy Friday! It’s going to be a good day. You know why? Because I am choosing it to be. Exercising and eating healthy meals is extremely important for living a healthy life and reaching your goals. But, your mind and thoughts are even more important. I’ll admit it, I am not always the most positive or kind to myself. I pick apart what I see in the mirror and catch myself comparing myself to others. The only thing these actions have done for me is make me feel even worse about myself which affects my mood the entire day. We all go through ebbs and flows have good and bad days. Staying positive and not comparing your journey to others takes work just like learning a new exercise or changing your diet. When I get a negative thought I make a conscious effort to rid that thought out of my mind and say a few kind things to myself. If I catch myself in the scrolling death trap of instagram and comparing myself to others I get off and do something that I enjoy. I am a work in progress. We are all a work in progress. If you are struggling with something evaluate what is causing you to struggle and find a solution to work towards getting better.
Getting to the gym is an escape for me and a place where I feel confident. Find your escape. What makes you feel good and positive about yourself? What motivates you? What gives you confidence? Whatever it is, make a conscious effort to do it weekly or even daily.
