What in the world, how is it time for the kiddos to go back to school? Did we even have a summer? Summer is quickly coming to a close and before we know it snow will be hitting the ground. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We still have fall to look forward to and all things flannel and pumpkin!
Going back to school can be a bit of an adjustment for most family households. The relaxed summer schedule is now gone and you get into full on routine mode. The slow mornings are now turned into rushing around trying to get everyone dressed, teeth brushed and fed before running out the door to catch the bus or beat the first bell. I can’t help you with getting your kids dressed and brushing their teeth, but I can help you get them fed! Not only fed, but I can help you start their day off with a nutrient packed healthy meal that will keep them full until lunch!
This smoothie is simple with minimal ingredients because who has the time for a time consuming breakfast? Not parents of school aged children, that’s for sure. It is packed with essential vitamins and minerals, protein and healthy fats. Your kids won’t even know they are getting in a healthy meal because it taste like chocolate and peanut butter!
Smoothies are perfect at hiding vegetables in if your child refused any sort of vegetable. In this smoothie they are getting in a serving a veggies that they won’t even taste! The healthy omega-3s from ground flaxseed will give them mental clarity first thing in the morning and help them stay full longer. Kids need protein to grow and thrive and the collagen powder will do just that! I love this Primal Kitchen Foods Chocolate Collagen Powder. This smoothie can also be enjoyed on the go. Throw a lid on it, grab a straw and the littles will have it gone by the time they get to school.
Baby A isn’t ready for school yet, but she was fully enjoying this smoothie! This might be a good little snack to share with her! So, if you have littles that aren’t ready for school yet, this is still a great meal or snack when you need something quick and want to give them a healthy filling meal!
