July 4th Champagne Refresher

Champagne Refresh

The holiday weekend is almost here! I’d rather it be here right now, but alas, we have a few more days to go yet. Are you already thinking about all your eats for the extended weekend? Because I am! Lets be serious, I’ve been thinking about our July 4th menu since last week. #noshame

I want to fill this blog with the simplest of recipes to show you that eating and living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be difficult. And trust me when I say this is the most simple recipe you will find here on Kiss By Brooke. Three ingredients, a blender and you are good to go. If you are still putting together your weekend menu, make sure and check these recipes out too!

If you know me, you know I love me some champagne. This is the perfect drink to have in hand while making brunch over the holiday weekend. Yes, I will be enjoying a few cocktails this weekend and no, I will not feel guilty about it. The importance of living a healthy lifestyle is learning how to live a balanced life. I am not giving myself clearance this weekend to completely go wild and eat and drink everything in sight. For one, I just don’t want to. I know my body, I understand what makes it feel good and what makes it feel bad. I don’t want to spend the weekend feeling bloated and sick so I will loosely track my macros and make mindful decisions. This isn’t restriction, this is knowing my body and how to properly fuel it even on a holiday weekend. If you are new to macros or have any idea what I am talking about, read this post. If you want help getting started with macros, email me at kissbybrooke@gmail.com or shoot me a message on facebook.

Champagne Refresher

July 4th Champagne Refresher

  • 1 bottle Champagne*
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • Place the strawberries and blueberries in a blender and slowly pour in the champagne
  • Blend until berries are fully mixed in and there is a “smoothie” texture to it
  • Pour into glass, top with additional strawberries and blueberries if desired and enjoy

*I like a dryer champagne so I bought a brut but feel free to get any champagne you’d like! I also used fresh berries and placed them in ziploc bags in the freezer overnight.
